Blended Master Captain’s License Course

Description: A master Captain’s License allows the holder to take unlimited passengers. The actual number of passengers you may take is determined by the vessel you are operating. In the end you qualify for either a 25, 50 or 100 ton Master Captain’s License based on your sea service. The scope or “route endorsement” of your license is based on the geographic location in which you gained your sea service and may be either Inland, Great Lakes & Inland or Near Coastal. A Near Coastal route endorsement allows the holder to operate up to 200 miles offshore and also covers “subordinate routes” such as Great Lakes & Inland.

You receive a Certificate of Training upon completion of the Online Master Captain’s License Course. The Certificate of Training satisfies US Coast Guard (USCG) testing requirements and is sent in with your Captain’s License Application packet. The USCG will mail your captain’s license to you once they have evaluated your application packet. The USCG evaluation process takes about six weeks.

Access to the online modules lets you get started right away and be well prepared for the classroom session when you arrive. It makes for an excellent USCG testing experience! The daily schedule for each Blended Captain’s License Course is given when you select that course from the “Location and Date” drop down menu.
